Trainee Account Handler 

As a Trainee Account Handler in our Private Client practice, you’ll develop and service relationships with customers and prospects and provide administrative support for brokers in our London and New York offices:

  • Efficiently handling quotations for new business, renewal and mid-term adjustments including production and monitoring of monthly renewal lists, production of invoice/credit notes
  • Preparation and presentation of submissions to market, preparation and presentation of reports for clients/prospects
  • Maintaining up‑to‑date policy and client records
  • Effectively dealing with and resolving accounts queries including liaison with clients, insurers and accounts department
  • Handling and resolving clients’ claims, including liaison with insurers and loss adjusters
  • Adherence to and assistance with regulatory compliance procedures

This role will be ideal for you if you’ve left school with A-levels or equivalent and are a motivated self-starter. As well as being well organised and good at managing your time, you enjoy working with people and as a result, are able to establish great relationships, whether face to face or over the telephone. You’re happy when you are working individually or as part of a team.  Your exceptional communication skills shine through whether you are presenting information in written or verbal form. 

Your hunger for success is balanced with a zest for life, and this position offers scope for developing your career within La Playa. Ideally you’ll be a little flexible on your working hours to accommodate the US/UK time zone difference when necessary. If you’re not a morning person and prefer a later start, this is the job for you!

Account Executive – Private Client

We're looking for an Account Executive to join our Private Client practice to look after a portfolio of high net worth clients and take a proactive approach to new business enquiries.

You will be keen to develop, manage and service customers, work closely with marketing staff to help develop campaigns, and undertake broking duties including:  

Efficiently handling quotations for new business, renewal and mid terms adjustments including:

  • Production and monitoring of own monthly renewal lists
  • Production of invoice/credit notes/policy documents
  • Insurer negotiation
  • Communication with clients/prospects
  • Preparation and presentation of submissions to market
  • Preparation and presentation of reports to clients/prospects
  • Client/prospect/insurer visits as appropriate
  • Maintain up-to-date policy and client records.

Effectively dealing with and resolution of accounts queries including liaison with clients, Insurers and accounts department

Handling and resolution of clients' claims including liaison with insurers and loss adjusters.

Contributing to operational policy, company visioning and strategic development.

Adherence to and assistance with regulatory compliance procedures.

This role will be ideal for you if you’re a motivated self-starter with a background in private client or personal lines insurance and a keen interest in the passion asset classes like Property, Wine, Art, Motor, Yacht and valuable articles. You enjoy working with people and are able to establish great relationships, whether face to face or over the telephone or through social media.  You’re happy when working individually or as part of a team.  Your exceptional communication skills shine through, whether you’re presenting information in written or verbal form.

Financial Adviser – La Playa Wealth

We’re looking for a highly capable Financial Adviser to help develop new business, cultivate internal relationships and to service existing clients.

La Playa Wealth provides Wealth Management and Employee Benefits advice to high net worth Private Clients and Corporate entities alike. Based in London and Cambridge, La Playa Wealth is the sister company of the well-established specialist insurance broker La Playa. 

You will be keen to develop, manage and service customers, providing seamless Wealth Management advice to Private Clients. Other responsibilities include:  

  • Manage a portfolio of clients
  • Grow new and internal business streams
  • Provide corporate financial planning and benefits advice to SMEs, national and multi-national practices group clients
  • Liaise with marketing team on campaigns to develop new business
  • Meet with new and existing clients for reviews and explain the service whilst taking them through the complex corporate financial planning process
  • Work with the para-planning support team to produce clear, technically accurate, compliant and concise financial planning reports for clients, including high level financial plans based on their entire financial position, suitability reports and regular investment review reports
  • Keep up to date with technical and professional development, attend functions and events to build professional relationships and promote the firm
  • Continually develop and keep updated technical knowledge and professional skills
  • Assist in the continual cycle of improving the investment proposition and process
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Liaise with providers
  • Liaise with compliance advisers
  • Smart use of technology to improve processes

We’re looking for…

  • A confident, proactive individual with a high degree of motivation
  • A passion for exemplary client care – with demonstrable track record
  • Excellent questioning and listening skills particularly in uncovering clients’ needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent communication (verbal and written) and the ability to build strong, lasting relationships
  • A complete finisher with excellent attention to detail
  • Level 4, Diploma Qualified or Level 6, Chartered or Certified Financial Planner
  • An in depth technical knowledge and understanding of all financial planning areas
  • Excellent compliance record with detailed understanding of the compliance requirements
  • A thorough understanding of client circumstances and how they can affect the advice given
  • Significant experience in comparable roles

Accounts Assistant - La Playa Wealth  (Cambridge)

Primary duties:

  • Insurer statement reconciliation & settlement
  • Banking, cash control and bank account reconciliation
  • IBA reconciliation in accordance with FCA requirements
  • Maintaining Sage Accounting records
  • Updating Jupiter client records with payment/settlement details
  • Assisting in managing credit control, producing aged debt reports, liaising with brokers and following up actions required
  • Producing Paid But Not Settled & Settled But Not Paid reports for monthly review and follow up
  • Checking supplier accounts & invoice settlement
  • Settling staff expenses claims
