Dancers are exposed to a unique range of risks – so it’s vital to work with an insurance broker who really understands your work as a dancer. A policy that doesn’t pay out when it comes to the crunch is money down the drain.
Performers Portfolio is a comprehensive and flexible policy for freelance performing artists. It’s an affordable, modular policy that does what it promises to do: providing a fixed level of benefit for certain circumstances (injury, death, loss of a limb). We’ll also make clear what’s NOT covered.
Exclusively available through La Playa, it’s underwritten by Sterling Insurance Company, with premiums from as little as £100 plus tax per annum. Covers include:
- Personal Accident: cover for injuries which could affect your ability to perform – and ultimately, your livelihood
- Public and Product Liabilities: for your teaching activities, audience and merchandise. Public Liability also covers compliance with the Data Protection Act, and health and safety issues
PLUS, depending on your circumstances, you can add in:
- Employers Liability: for volunteers, trainees and co-workers
We can also arrange:
- Business Travel: worldwide cover up to 90 days per trip
- Money: fees, per diems, costume and event DVD sales income, and programme/merchandise cash
- Property: worldwide cover for home office contents, computers (including laptops), instruments, hired-in equipment, sheet music, props and wardrobe, portable dance flooring, barres and mirrors, merchandise stock, show DVDs, brochures
- Loss of income: protects income streams during physical and technological disruptions (fire, flood, power & telecommunications failure, prevention of access to venue and studio)
